We are seeking a Senior Finance Accountant who will play a key role in safeguarding the financial health of our company. In this position, you will be responsible for producing accurate financial reports, ensuring compliance, and developing strategies based on financial analysis. You will report directly to the European Finance Manager and work closely with various internal and external stakeholders.

Your role
As Senior Finance Accountant, you will oversee day-to-day financial operations as well as monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting. You will support project accounting, monitor financial performance, and ensure that all financial processes meet internal guidelines and external regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities
Financial operations & reporting
- Manage daily financial activities, including payments, invoicing, and reimbursements.
- Prepare and monitor financial bookkeeping.
- Lead month-end closing activities and prepare monthly and annual reports for HQ (TB, GL, AP, AR, WIP, inventory, related transactions, and bank reconciliations).
- Prepare annual financial statements and support the annual audit in line with parent company requirements.
- Prepare quarterly VAT filings and support income tax returns in collaboration with external providers.
- Complete additional tax and customs reporting as required.
Project & cost management
- Track project status, recognize revenue and related costs, and apply WIP accounting correctly.
- Support project management with accurate financial insights and controls.
Compliance, policy & risk Management
- Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures.
- Identify opportunities to minimize financial risks.
- Monitor financial performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and legislation.
- Adhere to GDPR, internal information security policies, ISO 14001 environmental standards, and ISO 27001 data security requirements.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 3–5+ years of experience in GL accounting, financial reporting, or auditing.
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision).
- Strong Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strong understanding of business processes and systems optimization.
- Comfortable communicating with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting and the ability to translate data into sound decisions.
- Solid understanding of financial systems and business administration.
- Professional proficiency in English (verbal and written).
- Knowledge of Chinese and/or Dutch is considered an advantage.
