Bottlenecks in security scanning often arise when inspection processes are not designed for current operational demands. Many traditional security systems were developed when passenger flows and cargo volumes were significantly lower. When these systems are used in modern environments with much higher throughput requirements, capacity limitations quickly become apparent.
Operational factors can further contribute to delays. Manual inspections, limited scanning capacity, and poorly aligned workflows between different inspection stages can slow down the entire process. As a result, the overall flow of passengers, baggage, or cargo becomes dependent on the slowest step in the inspection chain.
To prevent bottlenecks, security solutions must therefore be designed with both detection performance and throughput efficiency in mind. Modern inspection technology increasingly focuses on combining high detection accuracy with systems capable of processing large volumes efficiently.
